Got through all the character introductions and didn't care enough to continue another 300+ pages. DNF

Finally got to the mystery part and when they revealed the victim I just didn't care, like I don't feel like spending 300 more pages on the whodunnit. Maybe if happened sooner. I didn't hate the lead like lots of others seem to, I just need more of interest to happen. Read a summary and I am glad I am saving myself the time to not read on. DNF

Ooof not vibing right off the bat. Alternative history that I just not sure I can buy into. Mostly what killed it for me is the lack of believability and it not feeling historical. Lead understands everything from the start despite being ripped from her homeland in Africa, no language issue or culture shock, knows that it is called carpet etc. Acts and thinks in modern ways, has a calling card... seriously why. DNF

Reads like middle grade, not ya. Very shallow and boring. Despite the length nothing felt flushed out or earned. Was not giving me anything, also I really struggle with talking animal friend ... DNF

Was interested in a governess teaching some raised by wolves kids but that is not really covered. She introduces them to clothing and next thing really covered is just weeks later and they are already writing poetry... DNF

Overflowing with chaotic whimsy that it was too much from me. Needed moments for reader to breath and take it in and really like half should have been saved for another book. DNF
