i'm getting kinda sick of reading about ugly fat girls as protagonists. it doesn't make your character inherently interesting just because they are fat or ugly or insecure.not interesting to read about a girl stuffing her face.just as it doesn't make a character special just because the prettiest girl in school. or she's pretty but doesn't realise.fat girls aren't good characters because they are fat.write better.

this genuinely makes me not want to read the next book. why did she even create the "love triangle"? cal never had a real chance. sophie and him spent like 3 pages talking to each other in all three books. archer sucks - the author wants the bad guy who's gentle and sweet with sophie, not the stable kind guy. This is what teaches girls to go with men who're bad for them, cause they think they can "change him"

so she's killed cal off so sophie can be with archer without hurting cal... great. it really is twilight all over again. at least cal isn't a pedo falling in love with sophie's daughter. but wtf. i hate when author's make up love triangles only for the girl to end up with the worse guy that the author fetishises cause it rly is a self-insert fan fic. Also why make a love triangle when it's obvious from the start?

yess!! finally sophie is back to being useful and not stupid, she does save herself or come up with something clever after moments of stupidity. but i think it was a mistake on the author's part to pace this book the way she has. the last book already suffered the same error and the first one too a bit. cliffhangers for books are not a good literary tool imo. it gets old fast.

wasnt it already revealed in the previous book that the carsnoffs could control demons throughout a bloodline? because sophie found out that that's how alexei got her grandmother to kill her grandfather before the council executed her?? there was also another discrepancy between smth sophie already found out but now treated like new information. i hate when that happens in books. makes the character seem stupid

leaving the grimoire which could save the qorld to talk to archer cause he's had his feelings hurt and is in a bad mood now... sophie pmo so much

sophie is really annoying me she is so stupid. also she's being cruel with that stupid love triangle which is just a stupid trope and overused and badly done and annoying and she's being dishonest and treating Cal especially like shit. Cal deserves better. And she'll end up with Archer even though Cal would be the better option. It's like twilight all over again. Justice for Jacob. Justice for Cal.

god this whole book is a bitter rejected boy being a bad friend and abandoning his childhood best friend because his ego got hurt. every scene where dee reaches out and he's silent and ignores everything she says, reframes it in his hurt little boy brain, is exhausting to read.

a fair amount of pages but the pacingbis completely off and makes the relationships very strange. the mystery is interesting but it's getting to a point where it's starting to ruin the story & the need for mysticism is overpowering the actual book. a common theme for maggie stiefvater books.

maybe Salto the stallion's high strung cause no one exercises him&he's locked in his stable? a stallion, no exercise or open field to run in. i like this book but it again showcases maggie stiefvater writing confidently about things she knows nothing about and writing in a way that is meant to sound mysterious and somewhat supernatural or magical but with her unknowledge or rather ignorance she just sounds stupid.

oh it might be colin - cubby after all. wonferfully written book. every character is complicatef anf easy to dislike and judge, while still being able to sympathise with most of them to some extent. some more, some less.

or potentially kay with her moral superiority and helper compley and unrealistic communist ideals

is gavin the worst? or fats bullying a girl? or andrew sexualising a girl he doesn't know at all? or howard being a creep and weirdo? or simon beating on his family? or samantha? or terri neglecting her kids? who's the worst? wonderful realistic book. i hate everyone

Im watching the tv show at the same time and i know a lot of book readers hated it, but sriously book clary is soooo annoying and jace, isabelle and alec are horribly to clary. They treat her like dirt. In the show everyone is micer and much more bearable. I also liked isabelleks addiction storyline in the show, the characters in the book are kinda bland. And clary still acts like a child just like in the first book

Stubbornness is a cool character trait unless the character is being stubborn about small things. Especially in situations where they should be mature enough to know that they are in the wrong - that just makes them look stupid. I have an issue with making your female protagonist look like a 12 year old, because they are tiny, and tomboyish. Add being stubborn just because to that mix and they look like a toddler.

Why do authors tend to write 16 year olds like 10 year olds. They are more mtaure, they are almost adulst
