This will be the last time I read Cory Doctorow. Having him write as a woman… talk about a sanctimonious white bro.

i can hear them talking, it actually makes me want to read it out loud, it’s just a shame i can see my mum missing out on all this fun, she should have been sharp as a tack in her seventies, she’d be so much fun!

Currently reading, just discovered a bunch of trapped spackle. Honestly, torture, dictators, army's and now slavery, I'm so close to giving up on this book. I don't see that I'm going to get much out of it.

A great romping adventure, so well written, with characters you really wanna follow, that I hardly minded it was a steampunk novel (my first) or that it was set in a brothel. Nothing was gonna stop me from finishing this page turner! I wish all Tor's books were such great adventures with such great lady heroines like Karen Memery!

Was there not a budget for an editor? There are sentences that are missing words, entire paragraphs which weren't needed and constant lazy turns of phase which directly contradicted the point. Talk about phoning it in.

For a book of over 1000 pages, I'm past 300 and hoping it will never end. Wishing I'd saved it for my flight next week!

First fantasy I've gotten past five pages since Potter, The Wardrobe or the Hobbits. Really enjoying it!

This is SERIOUSLY good writing. Simon Morden has a talent to weave an intriguing story out of thin air, the story moves at a good pace and things just keep getting more and more fascinating. If you told me I'd be reading a book about monks, Moscow, the Middle East, the Kenyan Empire and some kind of magic I'd have laughed in your face. It takes serious writing skill to turn my head, and Simon has it.

i'm past half way and the story itself is quite good, it seems to be dragging a bit in the middle but I do keep putting it down.

Walter Jon Williams really should be banned about talking about the female sexual organs or activity, he is really really bad at it, i wish the sex scenes were marked in red so i could skip right past them. I hope he's a better lover than his knowledge shows on these pages. for his sake.

Wow! This story keeps making interesting twists that just push out the scope of the story to be bigger and bigger!

Yay! Another Dagmar book! Only she's not the protagonist, she's running the show, but were In the mind of her lead actor. At first I miss Dagmar, but the thing is, she knows the whole plot of the story before it happens, so we can't be her this time, and I'm really enjoying Sean Makin as the first voice. Definitely glad I'm reading, finished act one and want to stop typing so I can go read act two!

I'm about 3/4s through, and wow! Why aren't there more sci if books out there with big imaginations, and less soapie epic war crap?

So if you're going to write a grim futurist novel, then don't make the first protagonist a teenage masturbater who claims to be in love but can only note physical attributes of his so-called love. Basically this kid needs to get shoved off a roof as far as I'm concerned.... Hoping it gets better, I'll give it to page 80.

I love this book I love this book I love this book! The thing about Suarez is that he doesn't let you down, he may lead you to a precipice, but he will always catch you as you willingly fall.

The editor really should have put their foot down and said "the first 200 pages - get it down to 80". Seriously there are characters that don't reappear for 24 chapters, that's 230 pages! It's just plain fatuous story telling.

This book has shifted and changed so many times already. I hope it's not gonna turn into another Shrink Ray story, but considering the unpredictability of the story so far, it's probably going to stay interesting!
