It's getting interesting. I'm almost sure that many dialogues are presented to provoke reader into engaging with the text. To disagree and to examine the arguments for themselves and not simply agreeing with Plato. Sometimes، but not too often, you hear voices disagreeing with the main character but in most parts this task is left for thevl reader.

I think one has to ponder whether Plato devotedly meant the ideal social class and the indoctrinating of the guards or he is deliberately making it as to provoke the reader and stimulate a dialogue. I think the latter

Ceena is 45% done with Hobbes: A Very Short Introduction
The background of Hobbes and the time he lived is reflected in his ideas very vividly it seems. He seems to have been under the shadow of Descartes for a long time and have certain contempt with regards to experimental Scientist of his time.

Hobsbawm never disappoints in the opening statement. I just love the way he grabs the attention of the reader. His vast knowledge, yet humble attitude is admiring. He also doesn't conceal his personal view, as in his other volumes. Looking forward to it

Husserl endeavours to point out how Descartes failed to become the father of transcendental subjectivity. He immediately concluded the thinking being out of the ego cogito and instead of staying within the framework of perception, he moved into explaining the real world.

Picked up this book as a prerequisitive of another great book, the phenomenology of perception. a Cartesian method after nearly three decades.

I'm hooked at last but that says nothing of the quality of the writing. The author knows how to drag on and keep the reader's attention. In that sense just like a Netflix series. I believe he us a very ables writer. The problem is that he quite consciously targets a wider span of audience. He knows all the tricks in the book. But he decides to deliver a "Titanic".

The story is pretty straight forward. Like a Netflix series. Short chapters with well knitted links and headers to lure the reader inti the next pages, similar to any series out there. This of course sacrifices what I expect from a novel, the literature, the soul. It's missing. So bit it, it's a light read.
