The writing is beautiful, but not for a nonfiction book. I am reading this to learn something, and while I am being exposed to new perspectives, I just want to learn the facts with citations. I don’t need the flowery prose or speculation about what “probably” happened. Just get to the point. I’ll finish this, but reluctantly.

This book is not what you think it is — in a bad way. A long, boring dissertation on radical art and protest movements. Admirable, but not what I came for. We’ll see if I finish it.
