Some light holiday reading.

What an intense start!

I began reading these as part of an Arabic study session with uni friends who are at different stages of learning Arabic. Hopefully the dedicated 1 hour a week will keep my Arabic on the straight and narrow. If nothing else, it is nice to participate in a space dedicated to language learning.

This is not the hugest slay of the century

Started reading this at Xmas but have the energy to pick it back up now.

hopefully this will drag me kicking and screaming out of my reading slump which I've had since September!!

This is getting very boringggggg

slaying beyond belief so far

I bought this in the summer of 2021 on a very hot day in Leeds (if you can imagine that). I immediately hated the way it was written so have only just picked it up again. The style remains like marmite to me but the more frustrating part is its similarity to Conversations with Friends. I'm a bit fed up of reading about depressed university students with bizarre sex and family lives.

I must say I am really enjoying Rooney's writing... Yet another writer about whom Issy and I strongly disagree.
