read the first two installments for hrcyed and while they were uneven and very silly, I feel compelled to finish the series out so pls ignore my reading updates for the next couple of days lmfao

last book for hrcyed 2.0 LFGGGGGG 🥳

sooooo close to finishing hrcyed 2.0!! I just need this + 1 more by 11:59 PM tomorrow & we’re golden

I did have to use some boosters/short-a-prompts but listen…. They’re there for a reason! I still plan to read the books I had earmarked for hrcyed that I shorted (~7 books) before the end of this year, but whew that was a wild ride… I will not be participating in 3.0 LOL so to those who are, godspeed 🫡

I think I’m going to round up to a 4 for how it made me feel, but I do feel like we could have spent more page count on different events, rather than what was focused on. it gets better, do NOT take yourself out of the game before it gets good!!

I mean how could this be anything less than a 5 tbh? I’ll paste two things I texted to a friend the other day on my thoughts: “His way of being verbose for no reason tickles my brain in a good way”

I think the ending was a bit abrupt and I definitely could have used more page time unpacking some of the Big Issues but she’s my romance girl fr I fear…..

do you ever put off something because you feel like you’re going to be obsessed with it and are lowkey scared that you could be disappointed by it? I’m only 6% in this after years of thinking about it and I’m having so much fun already haha—AB, my contemporary romcom goat strikes gold again 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

I do think the text itself is really readable, but I’m enjoying the dramatization

almost a platonic ideal of what you want in a celebrity memoir—had fun with this and feel even more strongly that I need to rewatch girls

I gotta call it on this one….I truly do not care about anything that’s happening here & I am feeling once again grateful that I did not get into Harvard bc the experience surely would have been as tiresome as this has been

interesting but a bit dense at times, despite its more conversational (but also simultaneously scholarly) tone—if there were an audiobook for this, I think it would have been better for my brain at this point in the year haha

wanted this to hit harder for me, but alas! did feel seen a few times in surprising ways 🪞

deceptively very short—Rodrigues Fowler plays a lot with form and this almost functions as a novel in verse at times

no quotation marks though :( [not as heinous as Sally Rooney et al. though!]

okay definitely not their best, but there were some tasty morsels of prose! another one down for hrcyed!

not minding the interwoven structure of the “remembering,” “knowing,” and “becoming” sections amen !!

one of my favorite modern writers at the sentence level—just stunning every time. This is probably a 3.75 for me, but I’m rounding up to a 4; can’t wait for his next!

absolutely wackadoo but I appreciate it and wish we had more from her! it is kinda one-note, but def recommend for my weird girl fiction™️ enjoyers & lil freaks alike xx
