a difficult one to rate. I don’t regret my time with this, but idk if I really Liked it tbh. Something very pessimistic and existential (obviously a fellow araki head) and some tasty turns of phrase (“the effigy of Christ presiding over this paltry court of our anguish” delightful 2 me) but overall…kinda go girl give us nothing underneath the grief & nonmonogamy pitches 🤷🏻‍♀️

this is a bit of a hard one to rate for me because I think this is really good and don’t really find any faults with it, but it didn’t give me the ~five star feeling~

So please know this is more like a 4.5 for me! really appreciated the way in which this was written as well—I have always hated when people tried to sand down how “voicey” I write, and I felt #seen by this author’s style

hmm this is an interesting one. Though I was pretty locked in while reading its messy contents and think it does have a decent character arc for our protagonist, I couldn’t shake how my secondhand embarrassment I felt for her, being 31 and hopelessly in love with a (legal but still kinda weird) 17 year old girl….. and being a terrible friend, addict, and aspiring DJ at that. Like sister….lol

rounding up to a 4; I feel like it was an effective oral history, but some of the stories were told across multiple chapters so it felt a bit messy at times when they were brought up again. anyway, luv a schwartz & savage joint and love that their production company name is so clearly a reference to the national

it took a minute to get to the more meaty nuggets, but I enjoyed this one! Sometimes, her tone is a bit cringe, but I overall enjoyed her perspective, found her explanations helpful, and her willingness to delve into the sociopolitical issues that frequently abut economics. A great primer for those starting their investment journey

picked this up as a skins girlie & had a pit in my stomach throughout this… so glad that she has found more peace now <3

I did have to use some boosters/short-a-prompts but listen…. They’re there for a reason! I still plan to read the books I had earmarked for hrcyed that I shorted (~7 books) before the end of this year, but whew that was a wild ride… I will not be participating in 3.0 LOL so to those who are, godspeed 🫡

I think I’m going to round up to a 4 for how it made me feel, but I do feel like we could have spent more page count on different events, rather than what was focused on. it gets better, do NOT take yourself out of the game before it gets good!!

do you ever put off something because you feel like you’re going to be obsessed with it and are lowkey scared that you could be disappointed by it?
