Incredible so far. The indigenous-centric perspective is great. Going through the different European relationships and styles of colonization as well as how those relationships were shaped by the specific indigenous groups they encountered is so good. One of the most technical histories I've read in a long time, but really really good.

I am absolutely pro-shark, and I heard Peter Benchley wishes he never wrote this book out of regret for what it's done to shark populations around the world. We'll see if the book is better than the movie!
