I don’t know if it’s still taboo to like Kristin Hannah as a guy, but that is such a comfy read in winter.

Jack London has become one of my current literary admirations. Every time I read him, I feel pulled into an abyss. On the surface, this book is simple, nothing profound seems to happen, but beneath that simplicity are layers of meaning, quietly hidden. I truly believe there’s a specific time and place in life when this story will hit. But he’s a specific author, you either love him or you find him utterly boring.

I sat down to read this tonight, the fact is I bought this in 2020 when it was trendy, but it’s been collecting dust on my shelf ever since. I started reading it for extra motivation for my exams, started off nice, seems extremely accessible. I’d recommend to non-readers, so far nothing groundbreaking in terms of new information I’m getting. I don’t know what to expect from this book. It’s borderline okay.

I actually love the vibe. The friendship that these guys have is so special, I love how it’s pretty much character based rather than a plot based. I start to care a lot about Jude and Willem and tbh I’m a little bit anxious. Safe to say I know the rep this book has and I’ve been meaning to read it for almost three years now. I’m in a perfect moment of my life, where I can handle the trauma. Bring it on!

i’m in a slump, I haven’t read a good book in months, torn between my job and my exams, I need to read something good desperately. it’s time for Murakami. The only author that I can trust with my life.

I’m not too impressed so far. It’s a classic for a reason, so I’m definitely giving it a chance, but if I had to compare it to French novels like Bel-Ami, it wouldn’t even come close.

this feels very haunted, very melancholic. I read this and i think- i think. i feel a lot of this book, it’s like the author is injecting his emotions directly into my bloodstream, suffice it to say I like it.

I wanted to read this book for months, it is my grandma’s favourite novel that she lost few years ago. I tried to find it at a book store several times. Nothing. Today I was coming back home and I found this book in the trash outside of my apartment. I guess one man’s trash is indeed another man’s treasure.

I can say it now i’m a true fan of Elena Ferrante. Five pages in, and I’m spellbound. It’s impossible to explain how she does it, but it works. That ache of nostalgia, the hollow presence, the void. Memories, love, the weight of now—all wrapped so delicately, handed to the reader like a warm embrace. A hug that feels eternal, or a fleeting glance—because you never know what stays and what slips away.

this is NOT overhyped, i actually quite enjoy my nights with this. I hate reading popular books sometimes, cause once you pick it up you are already familiar with the story and how people perceive it and for this one I felt like the bar was quite high. I have lots of friends with similar taste of literature as me who recommended me this and I’m actually glad I’m having such a nice time.

around 3 years ago I first read The Da Vinci Code and I told myself I will read another Robert Langdon book in few years in order to let it properly marinate in my head. I remember very vividly stuff from the da vinci code, I just remember i really really liked it. It’s time to put it to the test, if it was a standalone treasure or a quality series.

i’m literally fighting the urge to not finish this in one sitting. I have the candles tonight and this masterpiece right here. I didn’t even realise how much of a sucker I am for vampires. This book is sooo easy to follow and so intense. Gothic horrors might be my thing after all. Love this!
