Anything by Terry Pratchett, and specifically the Night Watch, never fail to make me smile and feel better. Sheer satirical poetry!

This had shaky pacing through the first half of the book but then it had me in a death grip... The progression, the motivations, the plot swing coming out of left field... Gaaaaah!! I bawled my eyes out and am now desperately waiting for the next book. I needs to know how this goes!!!

I've really enjoyed reading Suri's story all through the 2 books so far and look forward to what comes next... it's all so interesting and unpredictable and I really like the characterization of everyone Suri encounters as she careens from one situation to the next. As for Kol and Suri... loved every change their dynamic undergoes. 😌🤌🏽😘

Suri's story continues in this book and I am hooked, following in her wake from one misfortune to another, one discovery to another. The whole premise grabbed me in the first book, has been delivering so far through the second and I am already waiting for the next to see where this story goes! Any book that makes me care about the characters (yes, multiple!) and the overall story, is a good read 👌🏽

With every book I read I just getting pulled in deeper and deeper to this world and I love it... Follow the reading order she suggests, you won't regret it. I loved this book and Imma keep going

DNF... I have to give this up, things are too all over the place for any real sense of plot to shine through and the reading is not easy, with my mental editor slamming the brakes on every sentence. Regretfully, I withdraw.

An interesting story that suffers from bad storytelling and inept vocabulary.

The story is an interesting one and I'm keen to know where it goes. However, many of the word choices and sentence structures make me disoriented while reading... I have to pause and reread sometimes to be sure I know what the author is trying to say. This book definitely needs editing in order to shine.

I'm less than halfway through this book but it's one of the most delightful ones I've read in a long time... I can't stop chuckling to myself 😁

The story of Alizeh has had me interested but I'm struggling through what really does feel like purple prose. On the one hand, I appreciate some of the turns of phrase that the writer uses but on the other, it's a constant effort to track exactly what the sentence is going to unravel to mean. It feels like a needless embellishment of words, but still I'm curious about what will happen to Alizeh so I'm reading.

This series has me in its hold like nothing else! I've powered through the 1st two books and now into the 3rd despite being on a ridiculous work schedule and almost no sleep. I'm choosing to read instead of sleep!!

This is... Downton Abbey meets The Cruel Prince meets writer with a captivating turn of phrase ... Love it!

A shot of Locke Lamora is all I need on a bad day. The undercurrent of humour with which this is written, is a joy to read!

Im giving up. Much as I want to read this, it's a sturggle for me and Im not connecting to the writing. Maybe the excess of exposition is killing it for me, taking me out of the story before it has a chance to take hold. A pity, I would have loved to read this through.

I found the concept interesting and have been trying to work my way though the admittedly heavy initial reading in the hope the plot, like a steam engine starting from a cold start, will pick up speed.
