This is my first time reading Dostoyevsky. I can imagine a young Nietzsche really resonating with the character, but at the same time hating some ways our protagonist (in the underground) behaves "pathetically."

It's very interesting so far.

Every story I read is like a mindfuck at the end. Never ending the way you'd think. These stories are dark, as they are strange.

Aristotle is a generally fascinating figure. But I think I'm more a platonist.

I found this gem at a flea market. Its very lovely and cheekily written. I had only seen it by accident but by golly it almost feels as though it were written for me.

I like the description of Justice. Helps give a more clear definition.

Since school started for me I had to put this book on hold. Now I'm getting back into it and I find Aristotle is becoming much more interesting. I think my sympathies still lie with Plato, however....

I don't have time to read much "for fun" right now, but when I am procrastinating I sometimes read a couple pages from here. I know that's weird, but it helps me escape from the stress for a little.

It's an interesting book so far. I might have to reread it sometime when I'm done. Are we all schizophrenic?

I don't have my book with me so I do not know how far I am. However, Plotinus recently has become very interesting to me (as well as Plato.) He's an interesting but to crack; deeply spiritual, rational, vegetarian, seemed like a pretty good guy all things considered. His though, also, seems rather fascinating and discusses concepts that I've been interested in as well. I've been also thinking of philosophical works..

Being vegan myself and a fan of Platonist/Neo Platonist thought, it is interesting to read Prophyry, and give a sense as to what life was like, and the complex thought and relevant discussions happening even then. It also helped me understand how Plotinus may have "sacrificed" during birthday celebrations. (I.e., not animal sacrifices.)

Been a while since I've updated this. I've since started school and haven't been on Goodreads as much. Right now, if I'm interpreting Aristotle correctly here, he's demonstrating that acting virtuously is not just a matter of a fixed behaviour, but also in the sense behaviour is structured. I only have a few characters left, so I'll cut it short--this makes me want to imagine how Aristotle would respond to Plato...

Thomas W. is 30% done with The Upanishads
This is a very short book, that I enjoy reading usually on my phone. I like to read things rather slowly and digest them. Reading the Upanishads is very interesting--recently it's been making me wonder about its connection to Platonism, and thereby, Christianity and it's connection. If that makes sense.

I'm taking my time with Aristotle, not trying to rush through him. Reading both the Ancient Greek (as much as I can at least!) And the English/notes. Pausing when I read it, to question myself: well is that really true?/Why is Aristotle saying this?

It's really fun and interesting! Having some knowledge on Greek culture and thought is also beneficial but not necessary.
