Being vegan myself and a fan of Platonist/Neo Platonist thought, it is interesting to read Prophyry, and give a sense as to what life was like, and the complex thought and relevant discussions happening even then. It also helped me understand how Plotinus may have "sacrificed" during birthday celebrations. (I.e., not animal sacrifices.)
