I'm actually reading the masterpiece editions, but I wanted to put these versions because the masterpiece editions have both Aria and Aqua and I wanted to make sure I had both written down so I wouldn't forget I read Aqua.

So confused why they did this. Why do the old people go to a separate village as the young people? Why is everyone brainwashed to think they're dying? Why does this even exist in the first place when the modern world is a thing? What sort of sick experiment are they trying to do?

Digital is a lot further than physical. I'm still waiting on whatever library has the series to get 17. But I can read up through whatever's been translated digitally for now and read the physical volume to get a better look at the recipes later.

Why am I rereading my favorite manga instead of something new? Idk I just felt like it. I actually wanted to reread Witch Hat Atelier but then I was like, but I also wanted to reread this cause the new volume comes out soon. And then this happened.

Plant Fact I Learned from a History Book #1:

Broccoli and mustard are related to each other. How? They're both in the cabbage family. Is broccoli the only cabbage plant I like? Maybe. This plant family is honestly huge. So huge that I almost thought that this was misinformation until I dug further into the genuses on Wikipedia. Guess how I learned this? Woad. Don't know what woad is? Look it up. It's very cool.

Well, I now know a few things about the Trung sisters. That was the entire reason I wanted to read this. Unfortunately, Vietnam was conquered by China and they died :( But they did put up a good fight and won their independence for two years at least.

ON PAGES 71-72 THERE IS AN EXACT QUOTE FROM TRANSLATED NUBIAN HIEROGLYPHS. EXPLAIN TO ME HOW IT'S AN UNTRANSLATED LANGUAGE WHEN YOU LITERALLY QUOTE FROM IT. I looked up the source for the wrong info and it's a supposedly reliable textbook from 2004. Press X to Doubt.

This book claims that the Meroitic language hasn't been translated yet. Is this author living in 1908? It was fully translated in 1909. Now I'm questioning all the other facts in here. How can I trust this author to have other correct information when there's one glaringly obvious mistake that gets repeated TWICE???

The author has clearly never had a cat, or had a friend or family member with a cat. Cats on catnip don't turn aggressive. They get high. And why was that the metaphor???????? I wish to be as far away from the inside of this author's brain as possible. I think we would not get along.

Said no one in Ancient Greece ever. I wish this book actually took things seriously. War isn't a joke, even if it was 2000 years ago. Why is this book treating history like a silly little thing to know facts about, rather than relating it to how it affects modern day? Sure, kids might find this fun to read, but it's not actually going to help them understand why we study history.

I am getting very sick of the narrative voice talking directly at the reader in such an informal way. I wouldn't mind it so much if it wasn't constantly saying the most cringey things. I'm usually fine with being talked to directly in a book. But this just sounds like a kid wrote it.

Whoever designed the cover should be fired. Ugliest cover I've seen in a while. Secondly, stop saying "slay" constantly. It's used completely wrong, and even if it had been done right, it still would be completely cringey for a kids nonfiction book.

This is like the perfect blend of Witch Hat Atelier and Drifting Dragons. I think I've found a new favorite manga. So glad I got the arc of this first volume. It's so good.

It worked out in my favor that I forgot Dr. Mensah's wife was taken hostage at the end of the last book, because then I got to watch Murderbot be all cool and stealthy while the reason why was a total mystery to me. Did she do that on purpose to mess with everyone who forgets stuff easily? I hope so. I liked it.

Also, it's clear that a lot of the narration comes directly from the light novel. There's a lot of unnecessary descriptions of things we can literally see happening because, you know, manga is made of pictures. I'm sure that would have been nice in the light novel, but it's overkill in a manga. I have exactly one hope going forward, that this turns into a yuri. Because at least then I would understand something.

I have no clue what's happening. They're inside a book? The entire town is the characters from the book? The white haired girl is a wolf actually, but it's ok she's not a fox since the main character is a fox now and also has a fox she took. By took I mean just straight up grabbed him from the garden and now is carrying him around like a cat. I am very confused.

I mean a regular fox. Not a kitsune. Idk what animal the girl on the cover is. She could be a cat girl. I'm hoping she's a kitsune, especially since there's a regular fox.

Not more Mega Man references! Listen, I don't hate Mega Man. I played half of the first game and thought it was pretty fun. I'm just so tired of that being the only video game reference. I feel like a silly Earthbound reference would fit right at home in this series. Maybe it's Afro's favorite game and I just insulted their favorite game. Alright, I'll quit now.

So many fascinating libraries in here. I wish all the libraries with ancient books never again face a purge or any other kind of destruction. Seeing how much knowledge has been destroyed throughout history is so sad.
