I feel like I'm reading a book that is a lot of little ideas crammed into one. And with this being a novella, that makes it doubly important to not overwhelm the reader with too many details. I would love to see this as a much longer novel, so we really have time to sit with the man character.

Themes remind me of Monk and Robot. But a lot weirder and darker.

HALF KITSUNE
ANIMA IS HALF FOX
Ok I'm having a great time actually. Minus that last scene. That was weird.

Boy do I wish the only weird thing in this was the metaphors. This is one of those things where only this particular author could have thought this up. No one else's mind could recreate this.

Necromancy? In this economy? I was a bit thrown off by the sudden western setting. But now that we're at bones and resurrection I'm so happy to be here.

Ok so Anima can absolutely take over the animals' bodies æ inhabit. I feel that's a bit rude. But maybe æ has rapport with these particular animals and they're all cool with it. If not, I will have many strong words for Anima.

I would give anything to know why the author thought it was a good idea to allude that a rat's nostrils flaring are like semaphore flags. I almost thought for a second it was semaphores in relation to programming, because it was so out of place. Nope. Flag code. Fun fact: I used to be decently proficient, but not entirely fluent, in semaphore. Why, you ask? Why not?
