If there were a book I *really* wish had a Kindle edition, it would be this one. It is uncomfortable to read and the two column layout does not lend itself to margin notes.

I jumped in at book 7 due to a read-a-long on a cozy group on FB. I'm thinking that wasn't the best idea. I've heard lots of great thing about this series, but right now I'm not feeling it. I feel like Lucy is whiny and unrealistic and I haven't really been "grabbed" yet.

My slowness on this book is not indicative of my enjoyment level. NaNoWriMo has drastically decreased my reading. I'm just glad I haven't stopped completely,

An additional pass by a copy editor would have been nice. Something else it keeping this book from really clicking for me. Maybe just the huge font? I'm not sure, but I'm not terribly invested.

I'm rather frustrated with the Kindle formatting. Even on the smallest font setting and line spacing I feel like I'm reading a beginning chapter book. I think that may be making me a bit more critical of the writing quality.

I'm really liking the story overall, but the organization of the book is kind if driving me nuts. It seems chapters are just thrown in will nilly with no regard to topic or what not. If they really are going to do that, is prefer a bit shorter chapters as I like to stop at chapter breaks, but these are so long in not reading as often.

It's been so long since I read books 1 & 2 of this series. I was expecting a straight up small town romance and now a dead body pops up?!?

I'm so glad I didn't start this series until I'd lived out here a bit. I know the buildings and even the metro stops (Ollie must live on the same line as me). It just makes the story that much richer.

So, so good! Emotion, action, suspense! Though people who edit in library books should be forced to buy them! If they don't know what they are doing they should pay double! Grrr!

OMG, dare I say it? I think Macomber finally finessed her method of bringing one up to date on the happenings of prior books! Still a bit heavy handed in my mind, but much improved!

Re-reading in audiobook format. Needed familiar fluff so if I zone out thinking about packing things or what not I'm not getting lost.

I tried going the audiobook route, but I'm not keeping focused well right now with all the moving/not moving BS going on so I'm going to reshelve as want to read for now.

Early in the book I was impressed that there were few editing errors, which I find unusual with indie published freebies. Well, I was hasty in my judgement. Now that the action has ramped up there are missing words and improper forms of words all over! Things a quick proofreader would catch :-( The story is pretty good though.

The previous book left a pretty major cliff hanger so I tossed aside my personal mandate of reading two books by other authors in between series entries. Now I'm reminded why I have that mandate. This book picks up one week after the end of 44 Cranberry Point, yet 15% in and we're still just rehashing everyone's personal plot lines in vivid and boring detail.

Packing and zentangling, combined with a paperback (rather than ebook) means I'm very slow at reading these days, but not because the book isn't good.

I'm really liking this book overall. Tough at Day 9 I'm getting into lessons that require additional supplies where there is no means to adjust to what I already have and that kind of bums me out, but I'm just jumping ahead to Day 10 then.

There are too many characters, not terribly fleshed out, and mostly male so I've had a horrible time concentrating on the book. My mind wanders too much.

I can't quite get over how much of this book is steam. Yet, somehow it doesn't get repetitive, nor is it completely lacking in plot. While I'm needing to pace myself, it isn't a bad read.
