I just came off of reading two of the most amazing Asian based stories and I was like ready for this one and unfortunately, this is falling flat. This is really bad.

Damn this writing is really bad like I can’t tell anything about this character except she does not read as a teenage Chinese girl. She sometimes sounds like an old woman on a British baking show or a extremely southern Baptist old lady who has like 17 grandchildren.

I’m gonna be honest if I have to read the clip clop of the horses hooves more than once I may not finish this book

Update this is YA so my view will change a bit now. But also good YA doesn’t have to feel clunky like this
