It's hard to keep reading when about 90% of the dialogue is reported speech...

It's taking me forever to finish this book because NOTHING IS HAPPENING.

While I immensely enjoy Rothfuss's prose, and I actually like Kvothe's somewhat egocentric point of view, I'm wondering when the actual plot will start--and I'm already past page 200!
So far, we've seen yet more of what we already got fed up with in book 1: Ambrose still hates Kvothe, Kvothe still loves Denna, Kvothe still worries about paying tuition... I'm really starting to get frustrated!

Having reached this point, my interest is diminishing. We've entered a endless loop of "how will I pay for next term's tuition?" Where'd the fantasy story go?

"Took an arrow in the knee."
lol Skyrim, much? ;-)

Now, seriously. The story is interesting so far but the writing style could be improved. Several sentences aren't grammatically correct, and the POV wanders all over the place, which makes it difficult to know any of the characters. Every now and then, there's a beautiful descriptive sentence, but so far those are lost among the "huh?" moments.

I'm amused. The prologue (just one page long) begins with "It was night again" and the first chapter begins with "It was felling night."

It's been three months since I closed A Dance With Dragons at only 17% through. Sadly, I have no urge to pick it up again. :-S

Honestly, I'm fed up with meeting knew characters I couldn't care less about. Where are Tyrion, Arya, and Jon? Where's Daenerys? Why do I have to read about Damphair and some Dornish man instead of the interesting people? From now on, I think I'll skip certain chapters...
