international break put me in such an arsenal drought that I'm reading a mystery from 1939

it's a very fascinating and morbid story but why is it so long? I haven't even finished yet but know that it couldve been 50% shorter. it's incredibly repetitive, too sensational like it was written purely to be turned into a movie (which I googled at like 25% into the book and it is was in fact made into one) it manipulates your feelings and also hallucinates scenes that author just had no right of knowing.

it's interesting so far but fucking hell why is there so much emphasis on the beauty of these girl. would it be less tragic if they were ugly? or just regular looking? every time a new girl is introduced we just have to know that she was so beautiful and had such nice teeth etc. I'm confused.

so far it's a 10/10. a type of literary fiction I just want to drown in.

dnfing this one as I cannot take this author's work seriously when he has to mention the fact that there are more ex-vegetarians than vegetarians every other page as if that in itself is a reason enough to invalidate this dietary choice

i wish the characters would be a few years older, so that they're my age. that's on me not looking at the age category. it is very cute though, I'm enjoying it so far.

had this book on my shelf for few years, never really was in the mood for it but today magic happened and let me say, it's lowkey great so far

i don't really see the point of this sequel, ''nightbooks'' ended quite nicely. it's nice to revisit these kiddos, and i don't hate it by any means just truly wondering what's the reason for it
