this has already made me laugh aloud - I have high hopes for this, and it better live up to them!

this is possibly the most depressing book I have ever read, which sucks when I went into it thinking it would be a light-hearted and hopeful read

I am still slowly working through clearing out my tbr shelf - it had crept back over 1000, but today I got it down to 845!! still a lot of books to look at, but I've gotten to the end of 2019, so we're a lot closer to my current reading taste - I might not be able to remove many more! but we'll see! I'd love to get my tbr shelf smaller than my read shelf..!

I really had to push myself through the first few chapters - I found the writing style really hard to grasp at first, though the premise intrigued me - and now I’m glad that I stuck with it. I’m still struggling a bit with the prose, but I’m also struggling to put it down, and thats the important thing.

Edgar Allen Poe's 'Fairy-Land' definitely felt like a fun one to read aloud! this is such an interesting read and very different to anything else in my pile right now

sometimes reading books that have been on your tbr forever is a wonderful time and you regret waiting so long

and then sometimes not
