Alan just seems like a great guy. He's very cognizant of the lucky breaks he's gotten and is grateful for them. He learns something from every experience he's had and has a positive take-away. And he's especially thankful for the people in his life who have helped him, supported him, or taught him something that have made him the man he is today, personally and professionally. I have chosen my favorite singer well!!

The thing I love about Maeve Binchy novels is her ability to so fully realize a character. You come to feel you really know them and, even if you don't necessarily like them, empathize with them. The short story format doesn't allow for that, so I was not that impressed with this particular book.

Lots of gaps in logic made this one less interesting than it could have been.
