While the the first story seemed somewhat derived from the Sherlock Holmes stories, the second story was interesting. I liked characters more in the second story, somewhat more sympathetic. Looking forward to the last story.

I enjoyed it. It seemed like an odd premise for the book, but it reminded me of a O. Henry story in book length.

This was recommended no a morning NPR show. It is a shorter book, and was written during the turn of the last century. While written by a man, the lead character is a women. It was quite a adventure that this farm lady went on. I enjoyed it very much.

A terrific book, and even more interesting are the political and other non-cooking topics. It gives folks a glimpse into the 1950's from a liberal point of view. Highly Recommended

Great book, and thank god for ecopy since I have to look up words, but more often the footnotes. I had no idea on how interested Julia was about politics PS checked out the ecopy from library.

I always enjoyed Juila's cookbooks and her cooking shows, but this series of letters from the 1950's between two women is remarkable. Very High recommend.

I find the book interesting since I am an introvert. I am reading this for ideas how to be more effective at work. But so far the only idea that comes to mind is to suggest that my manager might want to read this book. It reminds me of the old saying "god gave us two ears and only one mouth, to remind us to listen twice as much as we talk." That idea does not seem to valued today.
