weil says beauty doesn’t try to impress… it just exists. like lilies they don’t work or show off, but they’re still beautiful. she worded this better of course. thing is, we try to control everything instead of letting things be. she says our souls should be like the lilies, quiet and obedient to what’s good 🤍

Stephens admires Copán but views it through a colonial pov. He imagines buying the ruins dismantling them, and shipping them to New York as trophies for a museum. His dream reflects the 19 century belief that Maya heritage gained value only when removed from Honduras and displayed abroad. What he frames as preservation is in fact a vision of appropriation and cultural dispossession :)

Creo que era mujer simple y algo aburrida tal vez por eso todo mundo la amaba tanto. Es interesante

She even spoke about color during her brief interview with Glamour magazine in 1992, saying, “I like very classic colors, black, navy, grey and white. If I want to add some impact, I’ll do it with texture.” She didn’t mention beige though.
