Having been a regular listener to the podcast the rest is politics’ by Rory Stewart and Alistair Campbell I was expecting a good read. So far I’m in at around page 110in a couple of days, which is fast for me- this is a very enjoyable very readable commentary on events in recent times by an excellent writer. So far would I recommend? Yes definitely 100%

A very interesting read. With chapters on various stages of and challenges for the NHS. Early times challenges of NHS formation. Challenges facing nearly every health minister of increasing spending demands and expectations and progress of science. Anyone who’s worked within the NHS for a number of years will recall many changes and challenges described. Fundholding for GP s for many of us in primary care .

If you work, have worked, or use the NHS then you may find this book of great interest. I do. Having spent many years workiing in the NHS my life probably like others follows a time line of much in this book. The Thatcher years, GP fundolding, the Blair Brown years- described as control freak time, the Early Conservative time from 2010- what on earth where they thinking wuth the chaotic English NHS re-disorganisation

As a runner , having met many of the 100 marathon club including several interviewed in this book, I would definitely recommend this book. Read the chapter on the Legend that is Brian Mills yes a lovely quiet unassuming chap, on over 1,000 maybe 1200 marathons when I met him several years ago but after the book was written.

This is a fascinating in depth carefully researched investigation into the pricing of medicines in USA UK and elsewhere . For pharmacists in any sector in UK ,in my view as a pharmacist of 40 years , I found myself nodding at the descriptions and legal money making scams going on .

Great so far. Much to agree with.
