9 books in and Kai Kennicott still can't pronounce anything Russian!
Hearing Vass-a-lee instaed of Va-sea-lee is so grrrr. It's not even one of the hard names!

How can he not look these up?1 especially since the two of them narrate books all the time and play a lot of Russian characters. Her Russian characters are so good and his are just winceful .

There goes the 5 star rating for excellent narrating! There is nothing worse than a British person who thinks they know how to do a French accent but instead makes them sound like a Disney character. It's just painful!

Oh my gosh we get it, Sasha is a psychopath in the true sense of the word. Why does the author keep bringing this up consistently throughout the books. We get it, we get it!!

Thank God for Vitaly the character from the first series who brings a bit of humor and interest into the book because wow this is so boring.

Did this book get so boring and predictable I skipped six chapters? Yep. And did I miss anything? Nope. This author loves to recap within the recap

Worst book of the series. It's a rehash of a story from two books ago. This is totally phoned in and so disappointing. Especially when a whole big deal has been made about all the security measures put in place and yet again some guy just randomly finds them in their secret spot with no security. Just lame and goes into my #mc.goes.stupid.for.plot.advancement shelf

What the actual f***?! One moment you're reading a Mafia book where people are being extraordinarily violent, the next thing it's a scene out of Trainspotting rescuing a baby from a dead junkie mother.
Now it's all babies all the time. This is not what I signed up for. And also this should be in the trigger warnings!

Also this book is so incredibly predictable but there is still aspects of the story that I can't figure out and I love that. Kind of makes up for the glaringly obvious "you know who" is the one behind all the bad s***

Gaaaaah. Without a doubt the most gruesome horrifying depictions of violence that I've ever listened to. But the characters in the story are so dramatic and compelling that I've decided to keep reading but just fast forwarding all the gore. Because #triggerwarning ,!

Do yourself the biggest favor you've done and listen to the audiobook. This is what five star narration sounds like. Multiple narrators reading excellent funny banter. So enjoyable and witty and smart and sexy and funny

Pro: the dumbass storyline actually seems to have potential
CON: the narrator has forgotten that his character is RUSSIAN! Not a guy from the midwest usa. So incredibly bad!

Oh my gosh a male narrator who can actually do an accent! Holy seoon fest with this man's voice!

Continuity!! When did her friend from the other world - the shifters - come to this island and suddenly be part of their group? That's like a whole book that seems to be missing

Baseball cap?? What is going on in this book I thought we were in an alternate world and here we are in the middle of an about to be battle match with the elite Warriors and suddenly they buy Sanders have on a baseball cap?

Apparently our drinking word game in this book is " turgid".

Seriously who uses this word four times in four chapters!

The challenge with books that want to be factually correct but yet fantasies is that sometimes it doesn't work. So while it has been disturbing accurate with the world of sex trafficking and what it's like for a woman. But now less than 48 hours later she's happily lapdancing on with the guy who "bought" her from slave auction,.is just wrong. Insta love or no, it's cringey af

At book 11 it's the first one in the series I actually don't want to finish. The characters all seem to have had a personality transplant and it is so boring.

I want so much to love this book and it's just so disappointing. This character has so much potential I mean a god of fertility who was celibate and now potentially has found his mate and yet he has emotional maturity of a 24-year-old quote bro quote I really don't think a Sumerian would be using American slang it's just so bad

There is NOTHING MORE BORING in a book than self-effacement

Has the author completely given up on Asheron? When did he turn into a week sniveling masochist? Hate that the strong powerful character that I have wanted to know and truly enjoy reading about has turned into something that is a paper cut out. Was this book written during covid and she just didn't give a s***?

Oh the pain of having your favorite character read by a narrator who not only doesn't do the voice right, but mispronounces the name!

Switching narrators on book 11?! This guy is so bad he hasn't figured out that the pronunciation of the MCs name is Asheron even though it literally says his nickname is "Ash"! Instead I know how to listen to an entire book where he's saying Acck-a-ron. :/

I am so disappointed that they got a new narrator and my favorite character does not sound like her at all!

10/10 banter!

When authors love to let you kn research they've done by writing vapid details you don't care about in the book, you have to commit to it or not. Waiting through paragraphs of diving jargon and how they had to stop four times to make sure they got the pressure right - you can't suddenly find a box 200 ft below and just open it like there's no pressure.
Do it or don't do it!
