I wasn’t expecting this book to be so damn good. The book hooked me when the story went to the main character’s childhood growing up as a sharecropper. My grandfather was a sharecropper, and all of a sudden this book wasn’t just reading anymore, it was family history. Each panel was no longer something distant for me, and I was moved over and over again

Jordan Stephens is 48% done with The Library at Mount Char

It helps that the book has some genuinely funny moments. The ideas are great and I like the way the story is being told. It's just that the characters feel more like cartoons of people that are broken rather than plausible explorations of trauma's effect on people.
