This is all quite upsetting

Officially in the pro re-reading books club. This book has a depth I don’t think I picked up on as a teenager. Yes, the detailed world building is incredible– but what makes middle-earth feel unparalleled in its charm and magic is this very specific tone that feels like it’s been carefully nurtured by Tolkien. His ability to evoke the sense of awe inspired by nature is also just masterful.

I neever re read books so I’m very excited to see how this goes!!

Reading this book feels like flipping through random pages from multiple different books in a row…almost like… browsing a library 🤨
