الیزابت کری، یکی از نویسندگان زن دوره‌ی رنسانس! انگلستان! و هم‌دوره‌ای شکسپیر بوده! که تا قرن بیستم هیچ صدای آثارش درنیومدن!! این کتاب هم دقیقا هم‌زمان با دوره‌ی اوج شکسپیر نوشته!
جالبه بدونیم که بخاطر محدودیت‌ها، زن‌ها اصلا اجازه‌ی تولید اثر برای اجرا رو نداشتن و با این حساب نمایشنامه‌ش closet محسوب می‌شه، چون فقط حق داشتن برای جمع‌های ادبی و صرفا برای خوانده شدن نمایشنامه بنویسن.

به‌هرحال این ماه ممکنه ماهی باشه که ما بهش می‌گیم شیش ماه پیش.

توی خانواده‌ی مارگارت میچل، پسرا باید خیلی زود اسب‌سواری یاد می‌گرفتن و مارگارت همیشه به این آزادیشون حسادت می‌کرده.(جالب این جاست که توی کتابش دو نفر بر اثر سقوط از اسب می‌‌میرن!)

I made a decision about Doreen that night. I decided I would watch her and listen to what she said, but deep down I would have nothing at all to do with her.

I liked looking on at other people in crucial situations. If there was a road accident or a street fight or a baby pickled in a laboratory jar for me to look at, I’d stop and look so hard I never forgot it.
I certainly learned a lot of things I never would have learned otherwise this way, and even when they surprised me or made me sick I never let on, but pretended that’s the way I knew things were all the time.
