Evil man preying on young women; I can’t read this shit.

The more I read this book, the more I realize why I don’t read shit from the 50s.

Mc really evil though because you call your husband an old slob while he’s 36 and this doctor is 35 and whole time your 19

See and the reason why I always find it difficult to read stories that are set so far back is because why is domestic abuse so tolerated? Man, venerated as an esteemed doctor, hits women but still he is viewed as a “charmer” in the story.

She calls her husband a pathetic slob every two pages and is head over heels in love with an abusive doctor. Reading is supposed to provide me comfort but I do not see this happening anytime soon in this tale.

Bastard. Blaming his libidinous behavior on his “illness” which is by the way called a mid-life crisis.

I wish I had someone to talk about this book with; I searched on the internet for any online discourse but I am not finding anything!

I’m not ready for this ending.

Picked this up at a cafe and was immediately hooked. MC is evil and has a complex. I once read a book with a MC I hated and I put it down so fast. I am gonna see this one through because not only is this girl crazy, she is also conceited, rude, colorist and a pathetic loser. Let’s see where this takes me!

We are losing the plot, Robinson.

Glazed on the most interesting part of the novel— economics chapters seem so disconnected from beings so I do not understand why they are spoken about in such detail. Who is the target audience? Right wing climate denialists or people who lean to the left that assume the crisis will solve itself without violence.
