I’m on page 1 and already I see a butt 🫪 (I’m going into the series blind btw)

“Remember, we’re madly in love, so it’s all right to kiss me any time you feel like it.”

Peeta the rizzler has made an appearance and I ain’t complaining 🙂‍↕️ Even in this murder game the boy with the bread has got time to flirt, you gotta respect it GAHDJAGSHHA

“I decorate her body in the flowers. Covering the ugly wound.” - Katniss

Katniss honours Rue’s life and demands the capitol’s focus on her humanity. This is no longer a game. It’s a young girl who has tragically lost her life.

This act shows us such a gentleness in Katniss, but we also see that underlying fire and will to defy the capitol. This is the very beginning of Katniss becoming the mockingjay.

“Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes
And when again they open, the sun will rise.

Here it’s safe here it’s warm
Here the daisies guard you for every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow bring
them true
Here is the place where I love you.”

Goodbye sweet Rue 🐦‍⬛ (I’m crying my face off rn)

“You can lift fifty-kilo bags of flour,” I snap at him. “Tell him that. That’s not nothing.” - Katniss

“Yes, and I’m sure the arena will be full of bags of flour for me to chuck at people.” - Peeta

IM DEAD LAAAAUUGGGHHIING

A warning bell goes off in my head. Don’t be so stupid. Peeta is planning how to kill you… The more likeable he is, the more deadly he is.

But because two can play at this game, I stand on my tiptoe and kiss his cheek. Right on his bruise.”

Katniss is out here playing 5D chess and Peeta doesn’t have a clue he’s in the game 💀

“I’m glad now I have Peeta to clutch for balance; he is so steady, solid as a rock.”

And he is gonna be her steady solid rock for the rest of time 😭

Also little does she know he can physically turn himself into a rock too I’m ded

“A kind Peeta Mellark is far more dangerous to me than an unkind one.”

For the foreseeable future all my updates will be about the boy with the bread 🥖 🥯 🍞

the crowd touches the three middle fingers of their left hand to their lips and holds it out to me

There’s something so deeply powerful embedded in this gesture and I find throughout the series its meaning and use becomes multifaceted. In this moment at the reaping it’s unity, acknowledgement, gratitude and admiration of the great sacrifice and act of love Katniss is making for her sister, as well as a farewell

“There’s never been anything romantic between Gale and me.” - Katniss

I KNOW THAT’S RIGHT GURL

“Wakey, wakey Goblin,” I say as I lift high the syringe, praying the silent prayer that his heart doesn’t fail, and plunge it straight into my best friend’s chest. His eyes burst open.

….ooookkk so maybe I spoke a little too soon about wanting endless suffering for Cassius whoops

I revert my statement Cassius you are free to live now 🫶🏼

“Without a final word, without a plea or a flicker of personality, he goes still, leaking red.”

I have no words my heart is BROKENNNN 😭😭😭

CASSIUS BELLONA I WILL NEVER FORGIVE UUUU

They shoulda let Sefi have at him whilst she had the chance.

If I don’t get to read several pages of Cassius SUFFERING I will in fact be pissed.

Rip my favourite howler 😞

“We are the new age. The new world. And if we’re to show the way, then we better damn well make it a better one. I am Sevro au Barca. And I ask no longer afraid.”

- I’m gonna need a hot minute to recover from this one guys

“My father was a titan. But he was wrong.
He was cruel.

And if I can be something else”

— her eyes meet mine — “I will be.” - Mustang

(Now if she pulls a 180 after delivering this line I will in fact be devastated)

Victra - “What happens when we’re in her way? Will you be able to put her down? Will you be able to pull the trigger”

Darrow - “Yes.”

omgomgomgomgomg

“Be my family and I will never forsake you. I will never lie to you. I will be your brother as long as you live.”

😭😭😭

This series has gotten me through a previous book slump. You know I’m locked in when I decide to start the 3rd book at 12:30am and am 64 pages in.

Can I just say Darrow needs a bloodydamn break dude. Someone free this man I petition for no more suffering for Darrow lol.

Just when you think it can’t get any better the stakes raise higher and higherrrr. I am in LOOOOVE with this series.

Fitchner - “Who can I reason with?

The Jackal - “Me”

Fitchner - “Hmm … pass! You’re creepy.”

I laughed my ass off because he ain’t wrong 😂, the lil slices of comedy are golden heheh get it GOLDEN SON

Littlefinger? More like Littlefkkingstinker because this man is pissing me AWF.

Did we know that Ned’s plan to make Stannis Baratheon king was gonna fail? Yes.

Did we know littlestinker was gonna betray him? Also yes, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be mad about it. My honourable Ned Stark is about to lose his life because of his best quality 🫠

Can’t wait for our self aware pathological liar of a main character to tell me wtf he be doing, like homie why r u studying Greek you don’t even caaare 😭

Ser Alliser is a certified prick and Sam is best boy 👊🏼, quit calling my mans “my Lord of Ham” 😖

If Catelyn Stark has no haters, than I’m dead. She is so damn nasty to Jon Snow, WE GET IT GURL HE AINT UR SON. Like Catelyn.. my kind lady, did the first time you call Jon by his name have to follow up with “it should have been you” (wishing him death 💀) LIKE CMON CATELYN HAVE SOME DECORUM.. Jon is also literally 14, pls she’s getting mad at a child for existing get it TGT

Viserys better disappear out of my sight real soon because he is getting on my LAST NERVE, GET OUTTA HERE DUDE

Mans carries a sword everywhere and doesn’t even know how to use it,, LOOOOOSSEEERRRR

“They cry out for their king… They do, don’t they?”
- Viserys
SIR denial is a river in Egypt

I figured it’s about damn time

Anthony moved closer, then brought her newly adorned fingers to his lips. “Perhaps we should seal the bargain with a kiss?” he murmured. “I’m not sure.” He pulled her onto his lap and grinned devilishly. “I am.”

The gall.. the gall of you to say you will not love her, put a ring on her finger, ask to kiss her, AND THEN put her in your lap IN THE SPAN OF ONE MINUTE? IM SENDING THE NUKES UR WAY ANTHONY

(“But you should not expect love. This marriage will not be about love.”…. “There are certain things I cannot give you,” Anthony said, “and love, I’m afraid, is one of them.”)

THATS IT!!!!!!!!! I’M THROAT PUNCHING HIM IDENTITY THIEF STYLE. YOU ARE MAKING MY GURL SO DAMN SAD, FUCK OUTTA HERE WITH THE “I CAN’T GIVE YOU LOVE” BSSSSSSSSSSS

(Anthony was suddenly gripped by the most insane desire to see her toes. It was a horrible thought. He had no business lusting after this woman. He didn’t even like her.)

- Homie u did not just start pining for her over the thought of seeing her toes

Anthony shuddered. It simply wasn’t going to happen. But bloody hell, the woman must have bewitched him. There could be no other explanation for the dream—no, make that a nightmare—and besides that, even now he could swear that he could smell her.

- DID I NOT SAY KATE HATH BEWITCHED HIM MIND BODY AND SOUL I HAVE THE WRINKLIEST BRAIN

“The only reason to give up one’s mistress is if one happens to love one’s wife. And as I do not intend to choose a wife with whom I might fall in love, I see no reason to deny myself the pleasures of a lovely woman like you.

Welp his grave is dug. There shan’t be a single person who’s read that who’s not going to side with Kate, her volition to keep him away from her sister IS MORE THAN JUSTIFIED

“Anthony shuddered. The thought of kissing Kate Sheffield was terrifying. In fact, the mere fact that he’d even thought of it ought to be enough to have him locked up in an asylum. And yet . . . Anthony collapsed in a chair. And yet he’d dreamed about her.”

- I’m actually laughing so hard Kate Sharma has the power to make the esteemed Lord Bridgerton collapse YEEHAW
