I’m struggling getting into this one. I don’t know if it’s because of Sarah’s age—maybe I no longer connect with younger FMCs—or if it’s the religious pieces.

3 days and only 18% in… it’s time to DNF.

The premise is intriguing, but I’m really struggling to get past the writing and never ending inner monologues.

Oh, the writing… I actually really like the premise so far, but man. The writing.

I really tried to get into this book. It’s all over my Reddit feed; I just couldn’t do it. Damien’s intro reminded me of Disney’s Hercules when Hercules went to the temple to speak with Zeus. I was all for that vibe, but then… then, the info dump was unreal. When I’m only 7% in after two days, I know it’s time to pull an Elsa and let it go.

I just can’t get into this. I don’t even want to try any more.

I’m having a hard time getting into this. Maybe the writing style isn’t for me, but I don’t remember feeling this way with other KA Knight books.

I’m not having good luck with my reading choices lately. This will be my third DNF this month, but holy hell, I can’t stand the FMC. She acts like a child.

I just can’t get into this.

60% in and I still have 4 listening hours left. I can’t do it. I don’t like Beth and her constant whining. The narrator isn’t doing me any favors, either.

It’s a good thing I’m listening to this as I clean because it’s boring AF. Lord have mercy. Edison’s chapters can disappear and it wouldn’t make a difference. There is zero chemistry between Riley and him. Also, the telling vs. showing drives me bananas.
