23 pages in and Callie Hart’s insufferable childlike writing hasn’t improved. Already overusing the fuckass word ‘mate’ and repetitively reiterating that they BELONG to each other. You’re about to piss me off lady.

We are still not even 100 full pages into this book, and she’s already complaining about being put into a dress as she’s about to meet the king. This writing is so amateurish and bad that I’d feel awful even comparing it to a 14 year old’s wattpad Y/N fanfiction!

Ngl, I actually thought I was going to hate this. But I’m kinda having fun with it so far. Sure I’m over the ‘oh she’s so small and pale and fragile’ and ‘he’s so big and towering and ambiguously brown but still lowkey white with shadow powers’ trope. But other than that, the story is actually quite captivating.

The Jeremy storyline is lowkey stupid and irritating. There’s no logical reason for him to still be associated with his ‘family’ at this point. It’s the biggest take away from an otherwise engaging story.
