Still going to write a "review" for this issue - the 1st of what was supposed to be the Red Hood series by Gretchen Felker-Martin & Jeff Spokes - even though we will not get a full run because of the cancellation & recall. Now I understand needing to have new character art for each volume & I also understand that having new characters grace the covers can sometimes be more interesting than repeating the same people over and over again. But I swear to you we have not seen this man in like 4 volumes: why here, why now.

Now why are we widening Gojo's jaw 🤨 they have plastic surgeons offering the Zac Efron chin special in the prison realm? Like why is his face so wide &, more importantly, how did I not notice this last volume?? I already returned the book on Libby so I cant cross reference but I swear he got an implant.

Jacob is such a sweet, happy kid before his transformation that it really just angers me immeasurably all over again that Meyer explicitly chose to add to her lore that shifters are "short tempered & highly violent" already that is a disgusting stereotype and then she had to inflict that cruel fate on such a mild mannered and kind-hearted boy. He is 15 now made 25 and forever angry & violent. Genuinely WTFFFFF

Edward f1 driver, cullens in a heist au WHEN

It is WILD to me how much less chemistry Edward and Bella have when filtered through his POV. Once considered tension is now Edward '?????' through every exchange, afterwards cursing the sky he can't know her thoughts and getting concerningly possessive over owning her inner dialogue. Once considered banter is now Edward internally sighing about having to "redirect" Bella's child mind and correct her tragic naivete.

My hot take is that Edward is a liar and it does hurt to be in the sun but only marginally, like being shallowly stuck with needles over and over everywhere the sun can reach you. Like the sun is actively eroding his stone flesh. Because then sunlight can make them weak! Like regular stone! And now we have weaknesses for these maliciously OP vampires.

Bella talking about how much she loves Phoenix compared to Forks - how bright it is, how sunny, how wide open and sprawling and stubborn and freeing - is actually really upsetting to me, bro, she canonically will never get to enjoy any of that ever again and for what. Dusty bones' icy dick? His granite slab of a heart? I don't even like Bella all that much, she's kinda a mid character, but damn set her FREE.

Read a few chapters a while ago: forgot how good this story is at hooking you and making every moment in that first chapter Incredibly Ripe with thematics — from the lesson in class to the behavior of the students, everything is screaming "are you steeped in the tone and morality, yet?"

Right, right, so our serial killer is gonna casually be Latino coded by name. And the only Latino in the story. Right, right. So glad old man bones skin-of-a-killer Edward was there to punish him. Right, right.

If I could mind-read, do you think I would gain mental representation when reading the minds of other ppl who have mental images? Or do you think my mind would still process it just through words? Hmm

Sorry, ladies. I need a book for embroidery and New Moon is a 5 week wait. You are not ready to see the depths of Edward's neurosis and neither am I. But alas. Time marches on. One is never truly ready for anything.
