I love how the true interpretation of this statement is OBVIOUS but Sara Hashem still wrote it in a way that could be interpreted otherwise.

This book is the epitome of orientalism ! 🤡 Basically, the story is set in Babylon. But instead of being a polytheist, Zadig is Zoroastrian. However, Voltaire mixes up Zoroastrianism and Islam. And on top of that, there are also elements of Persian AND Turkish history and culture 🤦🤦🤦.

I like how the magic system is getting more fleshed-out, though it is still not an intricate one.

I know it is for the sake of the plot but I hate it when the found family ends up being separated 😭. I can't wait for them to finally reunite.
