This book is the epitome of orientalism ! 🤡 Basically, the story is set in Babylon. But instead of being a polytheist, Zadig is Zoroastrian. However, Voltaire mixes up Zoroastrianism and Islam. And on top of that, there are also elements of Persian AND Turkish history and culture 🤦🤦🤦.
