Omg it’s getting juicy she just time traveled back to the 1800s for the first time in a few days and years have passed in the other “universe.” I can’t wait to see what that will bring to Dana’s life.

I’ve never heard of a storyline as interesting and multidimensional, literally, as this one I can’t wait to see what happens next

My mentor sent me this book randomly over a year ago. At the time I was more avoidant to growing up, adulting, etc. so I put it off. Now that post grad is approaching I mustered up the courage to start reading it, and as of now, I’m glad I did. This is my first time ever reading a self help book, super excited to learn more!

Reading this alongside of Sula since it has been a minute that I’ve ready something smutty

91 pages in, the best way to describe this book is raw, real, and slightly gritty. It started with two newlyweds who we're going through relationship struggles due to Roy's skewed idea of being a husband, masculinity, and pride and Celestial's complacency and uncertainty. The couple encounters wrongful conviction which changes their relationship for the worst.

Gloria Naylor’s writing is impeccable. The flowing description of the setting, the character building, and the dialogue is all amazing. The book sits heavy within me as I am listening to the audiobook while reading it simultaneously, so hearing the voices of the characters in the book helps to deepen my understanding of them. This is not my usual type read as of lately but I am glad I selected this book.

These past few pages have been kind of slow but it’s picking up again eek. Other than that I love Jules and Josh’s dynamic they are so cute #Jush #enemies2lvrs

It’s currently 1:30AM and I could not put this book down. The banter and tension between Jules and Josh is a delicacy. Honestly it’s embarrassing how enthralled I am with the writing considering there’s hundreds of years of more significant, thought provoking literature but this is good.
