Buddy read? Anyone?

One of my 2025 reading goals is to do a buddy read, anyone might want to do one with me?

Most people seem so transparent to me, and that scares me so much.

I happen to have been thinking about there’s a certain racial group that exhibits limited physical diversity among its members, perhaps due to a relatively small gene pool despite its large population.

[Canadian] government is hell-bent on cultural and moral relativism. The need to seem woke and "culturally sensitive" supersedes the need to save actual children from abuse.

There is no greater stupidity or double standard today. An immoral act is immoral regardless of who is doing it! We should all criticize bigotry, misogyny, child abuse, and other acts against humanity.

I just realised that I used to (try to) ask this question, but what I really asked was ‘what if I don’t XXXXX’. I guess I was so not in touch with myself to ask the questions I really meant to ask, or I was terrified of getting personal.

All good children's stories are the same: young creature breaks rules, has incredible adventure, then returns home with the knowledge that aforementioned rules are there for a reason.
Of course, the actual message to the careful reader is: break rules as often as you can, because who the hell doesn’t want to have an adventure?

THE CURRENT SYSTEM MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO TEACH CHILDREN ABOUT CONSENT, WHEN THEY ARE TREATED NON-CONSENSUALLY, REGARDED AS PROPERTY OF ADULTS, AND DENIED AGENCY THROUGHOUT CHILDHOOD.

Stories are joint actions. They require the storytellers who produce accounts; the coaxers, coaches, and coercers who have the power to elicit stories from the tellers and the consumers of the story. The stories that consumers engage with influence the stories that they themselves tell.

GAY RIGHTS HAVE OFTEN BEEN FOUGHT FOR ON THE BASIS OF GAY PEOPLE BEING OTHERWISE NORMAL (GOOD CITIZENS WANTING MARRIAGE AND CHILDREN): DISTANCING FROM LESS NORMATIVE QUEERS. SIMILARLY BISEXUAL RIGHTS OFTEN REST ON "MYTH-BUSTING"; WE’RE NOT CONFUSED, NOT PROMISCUOUS, NOT NON-MONOGAMOUS, NOT GOING THROUGH A PHASE. BUT THAT SUGGESTS THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH UNCERTAINTY, OR NON-MONOGAMOUS, OR SEXUALITY BEING FLUID.

They wanted to save them from the burden of their families and religion but not from the war, hunger, unemployment, political persecution, and oppression that marked their daily lives and that left them with only their families and religion as sole sources of comfort.

I could be a feminist in a way that suited my life, not in a feminism that would mold me to its ideal shape.

I don't think that white men see themselves in a constant position of power. It's just an equal exchange to them. They aren’t the ones who are dealing with discrimination, stereotypes, and co-lonialism. It has never been an equal exchange. In most cases Indians leave their homeland and come to the United States to make a new life for themselves. Americans go to India to check it out.
