I’m enjoying this, but I have questions. Somewhere between exposing a billionaire fraud at a gala and investigating a sabotaged car, Julia apparently underwent an unexplained personality transplant. The woman who calmly manipulated people into helping her is now screaming at mechanics and police while admitting she’s reinforcing their “crazy ex-wife” narrative. I want OG Strategist Julia back, please.

Stephen did “something” illegal in the business for two years, but so far no clue what.
The board just “voted with her” but not sure what they vented about. Is Stephen out? Is she in charge? This is a bit too ambiguous so far.

OK, I enjoy the series but there’s no explanation why suddenly in this paragraph she knows about the other women. She’s figuring out about the other names and the other locations for her friend but suddenly she knows the other women’s names and she knows about the wives and the girlfriends and all of those things… But there’s no explanation about where she got that information.

Ok, we are 160 into 291 pages and I am excited that Cami is finally having some lovely time with Saul but when are we going to see some vengeance against Logan and Rosalie! This is too much preparation… What the heck? I just want to see them get even. No one even knows that she was kidnapped… No one knows what Greta did. I am disappointed that Logan has been living his little life and Rosalie as well.

OK, so I’m on page 95 and it is the first night that she has to sleep in the mafia boss‘s bed. And so far everybody has been super nice to her. And like every other chick, she is up in arms about having to sleep in the same bed with this guy. I personally don’t understand why she’s upset about having to share this superduper huge king-size bed with the superduper hot mafia boss… I’d be all in.

Holy cow we’re only 17 pages into this book and we know from the blur what is happening but the MFC just helped her little sister take a pregnancy test… For her fiancé‘s baby. And the little sister is leaning on her for support. What kind of psycho crazy person would do that to her big sister?!?! Because that’s just awful right? This book is starting off really nuts.

PSA: This leaves Kindle Unlimited soon, so bump it to the top of your list. The premise is ridiculous in the best way, the Limbo Lounge scenes are comedy gold, and the banter is chef’s kiss. There are a few moments that feel a little dated, but they’re not outweighing how much fun I’m having. Definitely don’t sleep on this one.

📖 70% Update

Finally, the revenge has started. Taylor got fired and publicly humiliated, employees are leaving for better offers, and Grayson was forced to sell the family business to Ariana. The family isn’t truly hurting yet, but the cracks are showing. What keeps me invested is that Grayson isn’t fighting the consequences—he’s taking every hit because he knows he was wrong. But I need to see MORE!!

📖 42% Update

168 pages in and I’m starting to get impatient. This book promised betrayal, revenge, and a heroine returning with fire in her heart… but so far it’s mostly setup. I’m ready for less plotting and more consequences. If the revenge doesn’t start showing up soon, this is heading toward a sub 3-star read for me. It feels like we should be wrapping up, but it’s not even 1/2 done…

Page 50 and we finally got a list of real slights from the girl best friend when Savannah meets with her sister Meg to talk. Meg suggests she talks to her husband to get it out there and Savannah blows it off like maybe it’ll fix itself. What?!? I’m really irritated with Savannah at this point. It literally said she “categorized the advice as theoretical rather than applicable.”

Page 48: I’m wondering why she married him. Not because he’s doing anything wrong, but because she seems to expect him to be someone he is not. The slights are not really slights. His best friend is a woman and she talks about things they’ve done like trips, and school, and growing up. The wife doesn’t like that the conversation is about the past. She also never participates.

OK, my thoughts are we need to take Jake to the hospital to get his blood tested for roofies because Chloe is a liar but for some reason we’re not trusting Jake. But if we take Jake to the hospital, the book is over. So I guess let’s just keep reading and trust Chloe for now… Because for the first time in her life, she’s probably telling the truth.

This book made me very sad but now I’m feeling so so happy. This is probably up there with June.

I’m not even halfway through this book yet and honestly???
I’m rooting for the billionaire.

Not even because he bought a date with a married woman for five million dollars. At this point he’s just winning by the radical act of speaking to her like she matters.

Meanwhile the husband is out here running a masterclass in manipulation and lying more consistently than he sees his kids awake.

I apparently missed the “first kiss”…

I really appreciate seeing his progress. From talking to his friends. Defending himself, then truly seeing himself, and now in therapy. I want to see Charlie in therapy too. She deserves to really gain more strength and to finally stand up to her parents hopefully.

Where did Madison disappear to? She goes from texting and calling daily to just gone? Maybe she really did die in surgery….

The timeline is so off. Ethan says he gave away his mate 6 years ago, but it doesn’t add up…
She left pregnant so 9 months plus 730 days. Then 6 months until he found her. Thats a total of 3 years so far. Are we to believe he stayed there for 3 years trying to win her back? But no, Alaric even said he was only gone 6 months.

He says that they took Ash on day 692, but that’s not true because she only started counting after she gave birth. And he took Ash when he was only 4 days old. She left a week or 2 after day 730. Day 730 was the last she could keep record of before they chained her up.

The baker needed a healer… and suddenly she has healer magic that’s been there since she was a child?! WTH?

If you’re going to move the book from an app that’s one chapter at a time onto Kindle, why not edit the inconsistencies… the complete flip between chapter 8 & 9 is nuts.

They’ve only been gone 6 months and supposedly Ethan, Elijah’s twin, looks like the man who was Ash’s father. But there’s not a hint of recognition? It would be a good way for Ember to be afraid of Ethan as well… Elijah did hurt her mother many times after all.

End of Ch 4 - he’s staying to grovel, but what about your wife? Are we going to hear anything about Lady Seraphina or is she just gone now?

I’m confused why no one noticed Ash was gone…
Confused why Ash went with her when he was scared of her.

Please do not forgive Ethan. She keeps wanting him to rescue her and it feels like she still has faith in this horrible mate. He is just as bad and deserves none of her forgiveness.
