Not going to finish. Too dark for my current mood.

Not going to finish this one. Both MCs annoy me too much.

I think I need to revise my goal for the year-- with the stay at home order I am reading even more than normal, and that's saying a lot. Generally I've gotten behind in updating here, especially ebooks I borrow through my library, so I'm trying to catch up in adding them. But why does goodreads now limit my search results to 20? It makes it nearly impossible to find the right book if it has a common title

Just finished the chapter on healing with lasers. So much wish I could get such treatment for my shoulder and my ankles. Maybe I could do triathlons again!

Well, slowly but surely working my way through. Maybe I'll finish this one by the end of the year

Maybe I'll finish this . . . eventually . . . oh my gosh, I'm so glad Melville was never on my required reading list in school.

Decided to read these again-- mostly so I can clear the dark cloud out of my mind. Anne always makes me smile-- and brightens my outlook on the world!

Finally got to the part about chimeras! Fascinating stuff.

Reading about Phillip Hamilton's death just tugged at my heartstrings. So tragic and unnecessary! His poor sister too. (And considering his father's not-to-distant fate, I wonder how Eliza Hamilton survived all of it. She must have been a rock of a woman!!)

Those who believe our nation has more bitterly divided political factions than ever before should revisit the state of politics during John Adams presidency. Whoa. But we survived that. We'll survive our current turmoil too.

Hoping that after reading this I can actually understand what my 14 year old Transformers fan is talking about!

Re-reading to get ready to read Oathbringer! Normally I don't mark books I re-read because I don't want them to go toward my reading challenge. But when you re-read two 1,000+ page epic fantasy books and it feels like you're starting from scratch- yeah, I'm going to count it. I'm picking up so many things I missed the first time through! (Same as with Way of Kings).

I'm bogged down trying to read the excerpts from "the book." I really wish Winston would just recap, I am about as bored as Julia appears to be.

ugh. I understand loads more than I did 30 years ago but that doesn't make me like this book any better.

I'm adding these as re-reads because I read them out loud to my husband on our drive cross country. That's a lot to read out loud!! (And I should get some credit for that on my reading challenge-- I totally could have been reading my own stack of books instead of trying to entertain my spouse.)

Ok, technically I've read 1984, but since I read it at about 11 or 12 years old, I'm 100% certain that it will be a different experience reading it now. Since my 14 year old is reading it, I decided it's time to revisit it so I can discuss it with him.

So far I'm utterly appalled and completely drawn in at the same time.
