i fuuuucking hate dual pov... are all jimenez's books dual pov ugh

eerily reminding me of crime and punishment

he's about to boil a cat..

oh my god

i'm scared i'm going to be utterly devastated by the conclusion of danielle and desiree's story

you "hate" this guy but when he asks you to be his date the first time you immediately fold? what? WHAT? and then you start fake dating him without him even having to actually convince you? what???

i've had to contact someone at the epa before and this is suuuuch a small thing that broke my immersion but their email addresses are lastname.firstname@epa.gov, not firstnamelastname@epa.gov in the novella T_T

the writing is atrocious... (it probably seems worse to me because i'm simultaneously reading a pat conroy book right now - his writing is gorgeeeeeous - and have also read a few better written romance books in previous weeks)

it is so unrealistic for jack to have a snake tattoo... like obviously the rest of the book is unrealistic (a vc is interested in a half-baked idea dreamt up by 2 college juniors) but this takes the cake.

i genuinely haven't read a traditionally published book with such dogshit writing in such a long time and i'm only 5% in

"zoe looked up at jack's face, and found it was looking back."

first of all, why is there a comma? the second half of the sentence isn't a complete thought. second of all, why use "it" to refer to someone's face? i can't tell if using "it" in place of "he" is grammatically incorrect, but it just *feels* wrong (also this was a good example of when to use a comma correctly to separate two COMPLETE thoughts).

this book literally begins with a sentence fragment

I hope I'm not putting my foot in my mouth when I say this but the way the author writes william.... that's my dream man

holy fuck 'means to an end' is gorgeous

"can i give you my number? he says. like in case you ever think about me. i could just put the number into your phone and then it would be there, you wouldn't even have to look at it again if you didn't want to."

ran into a situation this week where a guy asked if he could give me his number and then not even 5 minutes later blindsided me by asking for my number...

anyway i love ivan already

every tyrant has its end. soon, you will come home.
