DNF. MMC rapes FMC. Twice. I’m not understanding why authors write horrendous stuff like this and then somehow thinks the two characters should remain together with HEA. Who’s trying to be together with their rapist??

DNF at 52%. MMC drugs and rapes the FMC. The trigger warnings were not specific that this would happen between the MCs. I thought it would be a result of what he went through in the facility. I need weird authors like this to stop romanticizing rape and then classifying it as Dark Romance. You’re giving the genre a bad name. Also that wasn’t somnophilia, it’s was rape. I shouldn’t have to say that.

Stopped reading. Might DNF it and move on. MMC was way too controlling. He lied about who he was, forced FMC to marry him, and then completely controlled and ruined her life. FMC was a nurse trying to complete her residency at a hospital and he forced her to quit and refused to let her work again. He took away her career and goals and she let him without a fight. Girl, STAND UP. Can’t stand poorly written FMCs.

DNF at 22%. Her being 19 years old to his 35 is too weird for me. He has a daughter that’s 7. The FMC is closer in age to his daughter than she is to the MMC. It grossed me out and I couldn’t fully engage/connect with the book.

Did Not Finish (DNF). He drugs her twice, forcibly puts a tattoo on her body because she didn’t want to wear his wedding ring, and from what I’ve read from other reviews, he tampers with her birth control to force a pregnancy. She accepts all of this without a fight btw. He’s abusive and she’s a pathetic pushover. Ridiculous.
