Adding to this because I’m removing my official review being as I didn’t actually finish the book. Here’s my final opinion in detail:


DNF at 52%. MMC drugs and rapes (she was a virgin btw) the
FMC. And the justification is that he assumes she wouldn't like how he looks (even though she's already shown attraction), they're fated mates, she's already attracted to him, and she came during the rape. The trigger warnings were not specific that this would happen between the MCs. I thought it would be a result of what he went through in the facility he was being experimented on in (which it does happen). I need weird authors like this to stop romanticizing rape and then classifying it as Dark Romance. You're giving the genre a bad name. Also that wasn't somnophilia, it was rape. That's it and that's all. I shouldn't have to say that.
There was so many horrible things happening, that I wouldn't (couldn't) classify this book as romance. It's just dark. If you justify this book, you're weird and need to put on a watch list, just like this book and author. What he did was unacceptable and writing it as romance is even worse. No one can change my mind.
