It’s a bit dragging on now; the plot of the story. The intrigue and horror of the mystery has died down a bit now and the murder investigation is being held. It’s quite slow and trite at this point of the book nevertheless I’m trying hard to persist reading on. After all, only a few pages are left.

So far, we’ve got the background history between Shane and Eva. In the beginning; the yearning and tension was nice and seemed intriguing, but it got exaggerated making it sound debilitating and trite. The physical tension aspect was too overused to be emotionally invested in the story at this point.

Ok just hit chapter 9 and im in loveee🥹🥹🥹. Where was this book my whole life?!!! The writing, the connection between Shane and Eva is immaculately drawn, the writing is so gracefully beautiful. Tia Williams you are a gem, a literary wonder. The emotional connection and tension is just right😍😍😍

Uzma jalaluddin is a literary wonder. This was a completing different premise for me to delve in to; different yet familiar and validating in a way. As a south Asian, delving into this book made me feel at home and the vernacular used in it just hit home for me. It was eye opening and the romance is just 😍

Love the relationship between bowe and carrie!!😆😆that’s probably the one motive that keeps my diving headlong in this book so far. Carrie, as a character, isn’t much relatable to me in terms of her competitiveness but I do resonate with her ambitious nature and her drive to constantly excel. The dedication of her father is what I really admire along with Bowe as a companion 🥹

My first Taylor Jenkins read and I’m enjoying it so far. Albeit I will mention that the story is incredibly fast-paced; almost too much that doesn’t leave time to actually be immersed in the story and actually experience emotional connection with the characters. I mean A: I get to move through the book in one sitting very quickly but it’s not as immersive as I thought it’d be. But I still want to keep reading

I’m deciding to DNF this book 100 pages through, because the writing appears to be too cliched, simplistic and just dragging. The underlying messages are too basic and generally conveyed, it’s not really emotionally riveting in any way. Despite the many times I resonated with the main character, it felt a bit too repetitive and pessimistic for me it’s a no for me. It’s heard to continue reading this honestly.

Basically finished the first novella in this book called “stuck with you”. Really enjoyed it, especially the STEM related parts and also liked the FMC. But the spicy scene towards the end was too much for me to grasp and digest; that was a big let down for me (personally) after the emotional relationship was built so beautifully. I would’ve liked a bit of spice but not too much to keep the book fresh in my mind

Basically read 62% of this and it’s not that great to keep on reading, really. Don’t get me wrong- I love Abby Jimenez’s work but this book fell too short of a read for me to fully delve in deep and appreciate it. It was too cliched and fast paced romance honestly, there wasn’t much of a developed storyline (mainly because it’s a novella but not my taste). So gonna have to DNF this book, for a good reason.

Almost halfway into the book; I’m hooked, enamored and proud of Matthew all the way he’s come. I even saw his scenes of his first movie where halfway filming he came to know the “warrior” in his family aka his dad had passed away. It was the most devastating scene and the most achingly beautiful scene concurrently. Enjoying it so far!! Can’t wait to finish this. I don’t want it to end honestly.

70 pages in, and I’m discovering a whole new side of Matthew already. Already a fan of his philosophy called “outlaw logic”. It’s so resonant and definitely gave me goosebumps, which usually means an emotional connections is springing from within me for the writing and the way the story is unfolding.

Enjoying it so far! I love Matthew’s humor and wit. Lovely writing, totally keeps you gripped and makes you laugh at many times during the day.
