I was enjoying this book, I got free with the S&S email sign up. But OMG the glose pages are virtually unreadable. If you're lucky, a chapter loads. I managed to get through the first 4 but have waited for loading more than I've read, which is a huge disservice to the story which so far feels like a cosy romcom

Ahhhh, I've been ignoring the typos (a line edit would have gone down a treat) but you can see one in a copy paste and it's down to me. Causal instead of casual. Causal means something very different to the context in this particular usage

Enjoying it so far but there's a couple of lines in this chapter I don't quite understand. Putting it down to regional dialect. Impressed someone can snort to a point they lose their balance!

There's missing punctuation. In the prose, not the text message excerpts

How can both chapters 47 and 48 be at nearly midday when there's a pretty lengthy and emotional conversation in there?

Also, the frequency of these kids missing school is sending alarm bells. Mainly Sophie and Max

Wait, is Laurie a boy or a girl? Genderfluid? Last scene they were in it said he, this scene says she.

There's an editor credited, but I'd love to see the proof.

The constant "why am I like this?" Feels like a rip off of Alice Oseman and that gives me an ick. They're a little misplaced in the text, would be fine without it

I'm a few pages on, but continuity error: Lucas read out his project, some kids gave feedback, then the teacher did. Then the teacher opened it up to the creative writing group. Who are way harsh in their feedback. But yeah, editor should have caught that

I've been loving this book so far despite my brain wandering about, but oh, do I hate the slapstick scenes in a book. Lucas and Grayson could have had a perfectly awkward first date without the absolute clowning of the last couple of pages. Also, the dad is way OOC in the last chapter. I'm disappointed in an otherwise 5 star book

I’d love to talk with Kelsey. With my storytelling and her marketing we could make a really strong young adult series. I’d strip the tropes out of her, she’d get the books out there

Of course her first sip of beer ends with the cops showing up and arresting her. Realistic, not overdramatise to force a climax that could have happened naturally.

I mourn for the potential of these stories that are never lived up to.

Sometimes I just don’t understand the motivations and morals of these characters. And I don’t mean I don’t agree with their choices, I mean they come out of left field. Blaming your mum for staying with her cheating husband?! What the hell?

Hypothyroidism is much better than acting allergic to vegetables. First book since the first one addressing a reason why an active girl might be big despite her diet and exercise. Just wish it was more than surface level

Can tell this book was written out of sequence because facts are being reiterated when it’s not necessary, because the author was learning but makes you as a reader feel like you’re being treated as if you’re stupid. Why didn’t an editor pick this up?

The tone of this book is so off. Like, the first book the first curvy girl got humiliated on the football field and that meant Merritt was devil incarnate. But the curvy girl in this one attempts to humiliate someone and she gets the guy she’s been targeting?! What is this mess? Why is Cori the bully being rewarded?!

Girl, if you don’t want your parents knowing you’re buying a fish … maybe don’t mention it on the family video chat? Did these books get proofread?
