FINALLY ABLE TO READ THIS RAAAAHHHH!!! So far, it’s everything I loved from Don’t Let the Forest In. It’s pretentious, it’s haunting, it’s unreliable, ANNND it’s so reminiscent of my beloved: the gothic romantic period.

It’s quite funny to think about how a man that literally played Satan and did cocaine on a daily basis was more scared of clowns than anything else at the time. He avoided his own reflection when he played Pennywise because of this. Coulrophobia is so silly.

This book reminded me of why I liked Theo so much, and why I hate most men. Tristan sucks so bad. Sophie, you could do MUCH BETTER.

Literally never read the synopsis of this because I just assumed it would be between Sophie and Theo (I think that was that dude’s name), only to be severely disappointed upon realizing it’s between Sophie and some business bro from out of town. Crushed. Sad. Forlorn, even.

this book really is just representative of religious trauma (specifically due to the LDS church) without ever mentioning religion.
