As much as the book is fun I’m putting it on hold for now because the narration is god awful. I’ll wait to read it on kindle or paperback

It’s been 7 months since I read the last book and 8 since I put the book on hold. I forgot SO MUCH😭 my review will probably be skewed because I’m trying to remember as I go along. But so far, 10% in, the interchanging of POVs is confusing and makes no sense. Like one POV doesn’t feel finished and then it switches to another in the middle of what’s happening and then repeats the same thing with that one.

Are all Abbey Jimenez books just different variants of the same exact story?

Also I was 🤏 close to dnfing it half an hour into the audiobook for saying Xavier looked like Rhysand from acotar 4 times!!!

Paused at chapter 15. I really don’t like the narrator and it makes it hard to care about the story when he’s speaking it.

I’m towards the end of April, about 15% of the way into the book. So far this reads as a published diary. For the title literally being “What I ate in one year” there’s a lot of “I can’t remember” or “I do not recall” going on. A lot of what he has had is wine but rarely specifies what type other than red or white.

Putting on hold because my library hold expired, also I was a bit bored.

Can’t stand the narrator, especially the voices he does for dragons. On hold so I can read the paperback eventually

Listening to the audiobook which is 26 hours long, I’m ten hours in and it’s just a little boring so I’ll eventually switch to paper back and see if I like that better, so for now (6/29/25) it’s on hold
