Very skeptical, but this was a recommendation and so I will see what it is about.

Only finishing this book because bookclub. I've liked one character so far.

Thus is listening to a cover of a song you know by heart done in a completely different genre. The song is good, but it's also really really weird and your brain keeps trying to play the original.

This is a very tough book for me to read. There's a lot of family history it is dragging into the light. I can only handle so much before the terribleness of people gets to me. Reading this a bit every day because it is history that deserves to be told and heard.

I wish I had started the book without knowing anything. Since I already knew Nikki ended up in Africa without Eric, it was painfully obvious what would happen.
I would not be reading this if it wasn't for a book club. It's so far predictable and full of stereotypes.

I can't deal with this book right now. Author is pissing me off too much.
I started it because I thought it would help me with my feelings of laziness. Instead it made me feel way worse. Also, resting != laziness. I cannot take the negative connotation out of the word laziness, so using interchangeably with rest or relaxation is really problematic.

I'm not sure about this biography. Seems very biased

Really enjoying this book so far. An interesting take on the idea some people live a very very long time.

Utterly bizarre

Generally liking this so far. It's a pretty original take on the fairy tale.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through and honestly considering abandoning it. It's not nearly as interesting as the first book.

Having a hard time getting to this book since I got S. for my birthday. Hopefully I'll be able to read some more this weekend.

Pass 1: removed all the inserts, not paying attention to most of the footnotes. Interesting story in itself. I'm looking forward to pass 2 (and possible 3). The production quality of the book is simply amazing.

This is not a comfortable read, but it is though-provoking and interesting. It's making me really re-think using "moron".

I'm having a very hard time reading anything lately. Hopefully I come out of this slump soon.

Listening to the book this time round, cause my copy is still in a box, and I can't find a legal ebook copy. It's a very different experience. Also, I forgot how much of an ass the time traveller is.

I need a good non-fiction book to read.

there are vampires. There had better be a good mundane explanation for the vampires or I will be very disappointed the series.

These are getting better. They are good reading in the middle of the night when the baby won't sleep. Nice and light, but good characters and interesting mysteries. I especially liked the haggis story :)
