This collection is so unsettling. *and I'm here for it!

This story began with the most beautiful dreamscape. "He lies on the blanket, joining her as part of the dark, and feels her stars rush into his nose and mouth, filling him. He sighs and sleeps forever… finally at peace, finally one with love."

There’s been a tone change from book 1 to book 2 for sure. The writing remains enjoyable. I need to see where this goes.

The alt. historical steampunk in Egypt circa early 1900’s is so fun!

Listening to the Graphic Audio is such a treat for this!

I was honestly not feeling the vibe of this … then at 25% there was a character development that has me leaning fully in!

I have gasped, cringed, and cheered in these stories. THIS is short story collection done right! Loving this so far.

I realize it’s premature - but this is going to be a new favourite. The writing is so full while not being flowery. These characters feel so very real. Absolute magic.

This reread is making so many pieces shine. This book is magic.
