For being 34+ hours long, this is seriously addictive. I usually struggle to stay invested with long books, but I can barely go a few hours without continuing with this one

I’ve been listening to this for a month now, and it’s so incredibly heavy that I can only read so much at a time. It’s not exactly triggering for me, but it’s definitely hard to read. I do want to finish it (and the series), it’s going to take a while though.

The academy setting is kind of giving Basgaith (Fourth Wing). Also, having read my share of dystopian YA books (which Nisha said she was inspired by), I feel like the “madness” isn’t actually real, it’s just invented by the government.

Wow, that went from 0 to 100 REAL quick. There was a good five minutes where I was just standing in the kitchen with my jaw on the floor, and I’ve heard it only gets wilder from here

I just realized that Selene’s familiar in the main series is named Nero, and that just so happens to be the name of the Roman emperor when this prequel takes place. I love these little Easter eggs
