Phew. I barely read in 2025 (mainly due to mental health issues) but I really want to change that this year. I'm already looking forward to all the books I'm going to read in 2026 :)

Why is every character in this book interesting EXCEPT the main character?? I swear, I don’t need a reminder of Vin’s trust issues in every chapter.

I'd like to learn how to write shorter reviews, but I just ramble too much— like who has the time to read all that? 😩 Then again, I write book reviews mostly for myself. I want to be able to look back years later and remember my exact thoughts while reading a book.

My toxic bookish trait is reading YA and then complaining that it's not mature enough. 🥹 If you're reading this, what's yours?

as someone who primarily used to read classics and literary fiction, i've recently been struck by the epiphany that i'm officially in my ✨ romantasy era ✨

Is it a bad thing that I value prose over plot? When the writing is beautiful, I'm more inclined to overlook narrative flaws and simply savor the beautiful language. On the other hand, if the writing is poor, I find it hard to overlook and tend to be more critical of the story as a whole.

The best books are the ones that you love. At the end of the day, reading is subjective and we all have different tastes. ♥
