Maaaaan, I am directionally challenged 😂 i had to read SO SLOW to picture the environment the author is trying to depict. I read a few sentences & paragraphs three times while simultaneously looking at the map.

Im still confused as to where things are, but I get the general gist 😅

Oh gosh, the political intrigue and tension in this book!! PB started of by making me hate the people in power. So I did. Now that I got to meet and have a sense of the world of the "people in power", Im having some moral/ethical dilemmas and thinking "well, Im supposed to hate these people... but..."

Its brillant.

I love the dry humour in this book! Taking me awhile to get used to the slang/language used. But, I am enjoying the slow, but elaborate world building!

Only 8 chapters in, I can tell this book is going to be heavy/intense.

Started this today! Listen to the graphic audio for a bit, and it sounds intense (and quite literally feels like just having a TV on the background and you're just listening). Excited to get further into the book!

I am SWOOOOONING over these two 😩😩😩.
The banter. The teasing. The denial. Drugs. There's drugs in KC's words. In her book. In the way these two characters are interacting with each other.

UGH. BRUUUUH. I. LOVE. IT.

The MMC is the epitome of the perfect combination of a brooding gentleman with "a$$hole" tendencies who flounders because doesn't know how to deal with a sassy lady.

Almost 30% in & I'm already obsessed with the subtle, low-key, tension. And why am I feeling jealous, too?! I'm still trying to figure out how Im already this hooked 😂. The words are laced with something addicting!!

low brain energy, fun escapism vibes. Exactly what I need.

Just started my read; I'm slightly confused as I feel like there are lores that are used which I'm not quite familiar with, so I think I'm missing out an important info. Hoping the book/author will go into more explanation of them as we progress.There's one lore that I'm familiar with, though.

why are brooding, might-be-slightly-jealous MMCs so.. hot? Cause Lorian 🤤🫣🫡 also, a group of tough mercenaries, got me all hot and bothered 🫠🫠🫠

So far, I like it! The pacing is faster than what I'm used to, but it doesn't feel like it's affecting the characters' development (for me anyway). This has been on my TBR for a while now. I finally am starting it!

I don't care that there are people saying that this book is "trope-y"... I FREAKING live for this. Yes, some may find them cheesy, but gawd, sometimes I need all the cheese. Is it plot-centered? Nope. Is it heavy on slowburn romance? Yes. I felt like the Sahara Desert for the most part, but somehow, I still enjoyed it 😂. PS: I finally got my spice!
